Being Centered
The heart center is a spiritually potent part of the body - increasing awareness of this often-neglected yet sacred place is transformative - after all, according to the Hindu and Buddhist yoga traditions, it is the center of our very being and the universe itself.
Take a comfortable meditative posture. Lengthen the spine, and relax the body. The shoulders should relax so that the heart is soft and open. Either rest the hands in the lap, or brings the palms to meet in front of the heart.
Place the mind in the center of the chest. Feel the sensations that arise in this part of the body, and gradually release the grip of any mental patterns. As the mind wanders, simply return it to the heart-center, again and again. After a few minutes, the mind will be calm and feelings of gratitude and beauty will pervade the body.
